Palworld 1.0 Breeding Changes: What Broke, What's New
Palworld 1.0 released July 10, 2026 ยท combo data verified against 1.0 game files, updated 2026-07-14
The 1.0 launch is the biggest shake-up breeding has ever had: 72 new Pals, a revised breeding result table, and a brand-new egg mutation system. If you learned breeding before 1.0, assume your knowledge is out of date โ most of the famous recipes no longer produce what they used to.
1. The breeding table was rewritten
The most jarring change: old parent pairs now hatch different children. The best-known example โ Penking + Bushi, the classic early-game Anubis recipe โ now produces Sibelyx instead. Anubis is still breedable (234 combinations in 1.0), but the cheapest routes now involve 1.0-era Pals. Every combo on this site is extracted directly from the 1.0 game data, not from pre-release spreadsheets.
2. Unique-combo Pals are now same-species only
Before 1.0, a handful of powerful Pals came from special recipes (Grizzbolt + Relaxaurus = Orserk, and so on). In 1.0, our dataset shows these Pals โ Orserk, Grizzbolt, Lyleen, Faleris, Shadowbeak and more โ can only be bred from two parents of the same species, just like legendaries. Powerful Pals are now a catch-first, breed-for-passives-later affair.

Generated from the current 1.0 game data โ if a patch changes this rule, the list updates with the dataset.
3. One gender-dependent combo survived
The Katress/Wixen family keeps its gender trick: a female Katress with a male Wixen produces Katress Ignis, while the reverse genders produce Wixen Noct. It is the only gender-dependent pair in the entire 1.0 table.
4. New: egg mutation
1.0 adds a chance for any bred egg to come out mutated โ higher stats and exclusive passive skills. Community testing puts the base chance around 1%, rising to roughly 3% when breeding with premium cake. Numbers are still being pinned down; try our mutation odds calculator to estimate how many eggs you need.
5. Faster hatching tools
The new Babysitter passive speeds up breeding and hatching, and the new Pal Dynamoff cuts egg incubation time further. Combined with the upgraded hatchery, farming large numbers of eggs for perfect passives (or mutations) is much faster than before.
6. What didn't change
The day-to-day loop is untouched, so returning players can reuse their muscle memory: you still build a Breeding Farm, assign one male and one female Pal, and keep cake in the farm's chest โ no cake, no egg. Offspring still inherit up to four passive skills randomly drawn from the parents' combined pool, so bulk-hatching for the right passive spread remains the core grind. Eggs still go into incubators, and outside the single Katress/Wixen exception, parent genders still don't affect which species you get. What changed is which child each pair produces โ which is why checking a 1.0-verified table before every session is now essential.
Quick checklist for returning breeders
- Throw away every pre-1.0 spreadsheet and bookmark โ the result table is different, and a wrong combo wastes cake, time and base slots.
- Re-verify your farm's standing pairs first: whatever your Breeding Farms were producing before the update, the same parents may hatch a different species now.
- Check whether your target is on the same-species-only list above before planning a chain toward it โ if it is, you need to catch it, not breed up to it.
- Rebuild your cheap-parent stable: with 72 new Pals in the table, several 1.0 newcomers are now the lowest-cost parents for popular targets like Anubis.
- Switch to premium cake once you care about mutations โ the roughly tripled rate compounds fast when you hatch in bulk.
