This Palworld mutated egg calculator estimates the chance that bred eggs hatch with boosted stats and exclusive passives. See your odds and how many eggs to plan for using community-measured rates (~1% base, ~3% with premium cake), marked as estimates until officially confirmed.

How egg mutation works in Palworld 1.0
Mutation is the headline breeding feature of the 1.0 release. Whenever a Breeding Farm produces an egg, the game rolls a small chance for that egg to come out mutated. A mutated Pal hatches with noticeably higher stats than a normal bred Pal of the same species, and it can carry exclusive passive skills that never appear on wild-caught or normally-bred Pals. That makes mutation hunting the new end-game of breeding: even a perfect four-passive Pal from before 1.0 can be outclassed by a mutated version of the same species.
The chance applies per egg, not per breeding session. Community testing since launch puts the base rate at roughly 1%, and breeding with premium cake raises it to around 3% โ Pocketpair has not published official numbers, so treat both figures as estimates that may be refined. Nothing else is known to change the roll: the parents' species, levels and passives don't appear to matter, so the only way to get more mutations is to hatch more eggs, faster.
The math behind the calculator
Each egg is an independent roll, so the chance of seeing at least one mutation in n eggs is 1 โ (1 โ p)โฟ. At the 1% base rate, 30 eggs give you about a 26% chance; even 100 eggs only reach 63%. With premium cake at ~3%, those same 30 eggs jump to 60%, and 99 eggs give you 95% confidence. The second number the calculator shows is exactly that: how many eggs you need for a 95% chance of at least one mutation at your chosen rate. Plan your cake supply around it โ at scale, the premium cake's tripled rate saves far more time than its extra ingredients cost.
How to farm mutations faster
Since mutation is a pure numbers game, throughput is everything. Bake premium cake for the higher rate. Assign a Pal with the new Babysitter passive to the farm to speed up both breeding and hatching, and keep Dynamoff at your base to cut incubation time further. Pick a target whose parents are cheap to field โ the breeding calculator ranks every combo by how easy the parents are to obtain โ and run multiple Breeding Farms in parallel if your base layout allows it. A well-tuned setup turns those 99 eggs from a grind into an afternoon.
Mutation FAQ
Is this a Palworld egg calculator?
It calculates mutated-egg odds and the number of eggs needed for a target chance. To find which species an egg will hatch into from two parents, use the Palworld breeding calculator instead.
What is a mutated Pal in Palworld 1.0?
Mutation is a new 1.0 breeding mechanic: any bred egg has a small chance to hatch into a mutated Pal with higher stats and exclusive passive skills that cannot be obtained any other way.
What is the mutation chance in Palworld?
Community testing suggests roughly a 1% base chance per egg, increased to around 3% when breeding with premium cake. Pocketpair has not published official numbers, so treat these as best current estimates.
How can I get mutated Pals faster?
Breed in bulk: use premium cake for the higher rate, add a Pal with the Babysitter passive to speed up breeding, and use Dynamoff at your base to cut incubation time. At ~3% you need about 99 eggs for a 95% chance of at least one mutation.
